Antlers vs. Rawhide
If dogs are not provided with chew
toys, they will likely find other items to chew on such as shoes,

Antlers vs. Rawhide
Deer antlers have many benefits over rawhides. Rawhides are
much softer and in general do not last as long as antlers. Because
they are soft, rawhides may also be torn into large chunks which,
swallowed whole instead of being chewed, may cause intestinal
blockage. Deer antlers also provide a higher percentage of protein
for dogs over rawhide.
As with any dog chew, to ensure safety
always remove antler bone when it is small enough to become a
choking hazard.
