It’s just a bone the way nature intended!

No animals are hurt in the collection of this antler chew!

Do you treat the antler chews with anything?

  • They are 100% all natural, just as if your pup were hiking in the forest to find an antler treat.  We basically use a sand blast technique to remove any debris or residue off the antlers.

How do you prepare the antler chews for dogs?

  • We cut them to the desired size and sort them by diameter to get the proper size appropriate for pets.  We use a sand tumbling process that removes any dirt or residue.

What do I need to be concerned about before giving an antler chew to my dog?

  • As with ANY dog chew toy, to ensure safety, remove the antler chew when it becomes a choking hazard.  Choosing the appropriate size antler chew for dogs is most important to avoid possible hazards.  (see below)

Antler Dog Bone Chews Recommended sizing:

Why Antlers For Dogs?

Antler dog bones are set apart from traditional bones as they will not stain your carpet, splinter or turn into slimy goo AND they last much longer than other dog chews. They are naturally shed deer or elk antler pieces, NO fillers, preservatives, added color or anything else!

It's just a bone the way nature intended!
No animals are hurt in the collection of this bone!
We do NOT offer brown "fresh" antlers from hunted/killed deer or farm raised animals.

Our dog bones are naturally shed antlers, gathered in the forest or on ranch lands at various times of the year around Colorado, Utah & New Mexico, they are all weathered at different stages. The slight weathering may lead to discoloration or outer hairline cracking. We will NOT package antlers that are rotted, have cracks penetrating the center of the bone, or we believe would be a hazard to any pet. Older dogs, mild chewers, or dogs who only get them for short periods of time do not need to be concerned as much for the weathered effects, in fact it allows these dogs to get the mineral benefit much easier. We have been selling these antler dog bones for pets successfully for over 7 years.

If you have concerns or have an aggressive chewer please request a “base end”, the part closest to the head of the deer at the bur. It is the most dense part of the antler and a lot more work to gnaw on. They are available in Large or Extra
Large size.

Feel free to make specific requests, we package each order individually.

The Peak Antler Company Presents All Natural Antler Chews

brodie puppy antler dog bone
At 12 weeks old, our “Brodie” chose his own medium elk antler chew.

There’s chewing, then there’s chewing. Puppies chew on everything, but they are supposed to learn how not to chew on anything except what they are given. The dogs that continue to chew shoes, furniture, rolled-up newspapers and anything they can reach are engaging in what professionals call “destructive chewing.”  Dogs engage in destructive chewing because they:
  • Weren’t taught what to chew vs. what not to chew
  • Are bored
  • Are afraid
  • Want attention
The fix is to teach your dog what can be chewed by re-directing him to chew toys that are very different from household items. Don’t give him his own chew-shoe, for example, as he can’t tell the difference between the shoe he can chew vs. your shoe that he can’t chew.

Sometimes the spirit of your dog will guide which size is best. “Scooter”, a Mini Australian Shepherd, prefers an Extra Large Antler Dog Bone. He enjoys the challenge!

No one “discovered” antler dog chews. “Dogs have been chewing on antlers probably as long as they have both existed,” says Pet Expertise. Your veterinarian and most high-end pet shops recommend antler dog chews because:
  • Dogs need to chew.
  • They are hard and long-lasting.
  • They help clean teeth.
  • They can be sized to prevent choking.
  • Antlers add minerals to your dog’s diet.
The Peak Antler Company’s antler chews will not stain your carpet, become a gooey gunk that you have to wipe up, or hurt your dog by splintering. Antler chews are naturally shed deer or elk antlers with no added fillers, colors, or preservatives.
When it comes to collecting deer and elk antlers, this dog won’t hunt. We utilize antlers from natural sheds mostly from Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.

About Us:

antler dog bone AussieThe Peak Antler Company’s Antler Dog Chew products were started by the family dog Aussie, an Australian Shepard/Dingo mix rescue from a shelter. Our main work involves Antler Chandeliers, Antler Lamps and Antler Furniture using all types of Elk, Moose, Fallow Deer, White Tail Deer and Mule Deer. Aussie would sneak into the shop and steal good antlers out of the pile. She would run off into the yard, chew on them for hours and bury them to save for later. She wouldn’t give them back even when I caught her stealing “red-pawed”. We came home one day to find she had discovered the antlers in the coffee table as well, that wasn’t so cute. It became obvious she loved antler more than any other bone or puppy chews we gave her. I cut up a few pieces of scrap antler for her in hopes of preventing more theft and save our furniture. It worked! Everyone was happy and the furniture was saved! Soon after, a friend with an adorably large black Labrador retriever puppy who also discovered antler accent furniture in their home told us their story. We shared a scrap piece of antler which again successfully saved their antler furniture and entertained the puppy for hours. They began asking for more antler pieces for their friends dogs and the news spread fast. It grew organically into a business by demand, just the way nature intended!
