*“Growing antlers are comprised mostly of proteins (80% by weight); whereas, mature (hardened) antlers are comprised of roughly equal amounts of proteins and minerals. Studies have shown that calcium and phosphorus are by far the two most common minerals in deer antlers comprising nearly 30–35% of the mature antler by weight. However, they are not the only minerals present. A University of Georgia study (Miller et al. 1985) detected 11 different minerals in the whitetail’s antlers. In addition to calcium (19.01%) and phosphorous (10.13%), the next two most common elements reported in the study were magnesium (1.09%) and sodium (0.50%). Basic Rolled Antler Sprinkles Dog Treats

 
Ingredients:

• 1 ¾ C. whole wheat flour
• ¼ C. Antler Sprinkles
• 2 (4 oz.) jars of pureed baby food - beef, blueberry, sweet potato, chicken, etc. *Make sure baby food does not have traces of onions, raisins, grapes or artificial preservatives.
•  1-2 T. water in needed

Directions:

• Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, mix ingredients together thoroughly. 
• Drop dough on lightly floured surface and knead. 
• Roll out dough to 1/4" thick and cut into desired shapes. 
•  Bake on greased baking sheet about 1/2" apart for 20-25 minutes. 
• Cool and store in paper bag. (Storing in an air-tight container will make them soft, but still edible.)
